NEW SINGLE FROM LISBEE STAINTON TO FOLLOW EUROPEAN TOUR DATES WITH SETH LAKEMAN

Following the release of her latest critically acclaimed album ‘Go’, London-based singer-songwriter Lisbee Stainton will follow-up a run of tour dates across mainland Europe supporting Seth Lakeman with release of her new single, ‘Sidekick’, on 28th May.

Whilst in the middle of a UK tour supporting Gretchen Peters in March, Lisbee teamed-up with renowned producer Chris Porter (Take That, Pet Shop Boys, Tina Turner, George Michael) at his London studio to record the single. Lisbee said, “It was a brilliant opportunity to get to work with Chris on 'Sidekick' - he's an inspirational guy and it was great fun working with him and the other musicians to record the track.'

Those other musicians include seasoned pros such as Geoff Dugmore (drums), Jennifer Maidman (bass), Peter Gordeno (piano), Nigel Hopkins (keyboards and string arrangement) and Graham Kearns (guitar).

Of the song itself, Lisbee said, “Sidekick is about finding that person who, whatever the situation, you can always rely on to be there and they on you; a partner in crime, a best friend, a soulmate, a sidekick...however you want to put it, I think everyone needs someone like that.”

Having already been playlisted several times by BBC Radio 2 and featured on the station’s coveted ‘In Concert’ series, Lisbee has spent much of the past two years touring the UK and mainland Europe with the likes of Joan Armatrading and Paul Carrack (the latter describing Lisbee as the new Joni Mitchell), as well as completing a 40-date European tour of her own.

At the start of 2012 Lisbee completed a run of 23 intimate ‘Living Room’ concerts - including a date aboard the nuclear submarine HMS Vigilant – and is now set to return to mainland Europe at the beginning of May as the support for Seth Lakeman.

Looking forward to the tour, 23-year -old Lisbee said, “I’ve been a huge fan of Seth’s since I was 17, which makes our tour dates together all the more exciting. I’ve had a fantastic couple of years touring all over the place with some amazing artists, but this tour feels like the icing on the cake so far.”
