When Lisbee Stainton’s debut singleRed’ was playlisted by BBC Radio 2 at the start of 2009 it signalled the arrival of a very special songwriting talent.

Now, as Lisbee embarks on a nine-month world tour as the support act for Joan Armatrading – including 35 dates across the UK throughout April and May - the 21 year-old London-based singer-songwriter, known as ‘The English Rose With The 8-String Guitar’, is to release an expanded edition of her debut album, ‘Girl On An Unmade Bed’.

Releasedon independent label Marionet Music, and distributed by Universal courtesy of Right Track Distribution, the expanded edition of ‘Girl On An Unmade Bed’  sees two bonus tracks added to the track listing, ‘Just’ and ‘Poison Apple’.

Lisbee originally launched her career 18 months ago, when she became the first unsigned singer-songwriter to play London’s O2 Arena, performing to a 30,000 strong audience. However, it was when BBC 6Music DJ Tom Robinson asked Lisbee for a copy of Red’ after hearing it on Lisbee’s MySpace page that the ball really started rolling.

Describing Lisbee as “a serious young talent” and ‘Red’ as “a classic”, Robinson’s support has continued, with Lisbee returning to play live sessions on his shows on 6 Music and Radio 2 – in Tom’s words, “Wow! Sensational! Absolutely mint! Featuring the astonishing eight-string guitar technique of Lisbee Stainton.”

Since then, Lisbee has had ‘Just Like Me’ from her debut album voted ‘Record of The Week’ on the BBC’s Radcliffe & Maconie Show, played live sessions for BBC 6Music, had GMTV announce Lisbee a star in the making, had The Times declare, “Bound for Glory - Lisbee Stainton and her eight string guitar….an exquisite slice of traditional songwriting: pure and pitch perfect.”, whileher last single, ‘Never Quite An Angel’ playlisted by Radio 2 for 6 weeks.

Published by Hornall Bros, several tracks from ‘Girl On An Unmade Bed’ were recorded at Abbey Road in the legendary Beatles Studio 2, where Lisbee worked closely with producer Rupert Christie, whose credits include U2, Kate Bush, Coldplay & Lou Reed. One of the tracks from these sessions was recorded as a tribute to the work of Peace One Day and has since been chosen for United Nations Peace Day on September 21st 2010 – a year many people are predicting will establish Lisbee as one of the UK’s brightest songwriting talents.

As part of the UK tour supporting Joan Armatrading, Lisbee will be performing at The Royal Albert Hall on Monday 12th April.
