NEW SINGLE FROM THE ENGLISH ROSE WITH THE 8-STRING GUITAR
‘Just Like Me’is the new single fromLisbee Stainton, the London-based 20 year-old singer-songwriter & unique eight-string guitarist from Southampton. South Coast station The Coast 106 FM are playing ‘Just Like Me’ every day and have been experiencing a phenomenal audience response to the new single. In the words of DJ and station Director John Clayton, “‘Just Like Me’ is going down a storm at The Coast.”
Lisbee caused a huge buzz in the music industry at the start of 2009 when her debut single, ‘Red’, was playlisted by Radio 2 for five weeks, despite being an unsigned artist. In addition, Lisbee played a live showcase to a packed BBC Club, where top media & music industry pundits were delighted by her stunning performance.
The success of ‘Red’ subsequently saw Lisbee making numerous radio & TV appearances, as well as fulfilling a hectic gigging schedule across the UK, and being tipped in the press as ‘one to watch for 2009’.
Lisbee has since been putting the finishing touches to her as-yet-untitled new album. Produced by Rupert Christie & recorded at Abbey Road, the album is due to be released in September 2009.
Lisbee was discovered by BBC 6Music DJ Tom Robinson, who asked for a copy of ‘Red’ after hearing it on Lisbee’s MySpace page. Describing Lisbee on air as “a serious young talent”, it was Robinson’s subsequent support of the single which led to ‘Red’ eventually being playlisted at Radio 2. That support from Tom has continued ever since, with Lisbee returning to play a live session on Tom’s show on April 3rd 2009 (repeated Saturday night April 18th) – in Tom’s words “Wow! Sensational! Absolutely Mint! Featuring the astonishing eight-string guitar technique of Lisbee Stainton.”
