THE JAR FAMILY STRUT THEIR STUFF ON DEBUT SINGLE
The Jar Family are a collective of singer songwriters hailing from Hartlepool in the North East of England, whose sum of their parts is even greater than their individual talents.
Reminiscent of a time when musicians realised that through collaboration they could achieve more, the Jar Family (Max Bianco, Dali, Al Devon, Richie Docherty, Chris Hooks) joined forces and forged a solid unit about eighteen months ago.
Fellow Geordie, Keith Wilkinson (ex-bass player from Squeeze) then stepped in to help arrange and produce the now highly collectable 5 track 'Livingston Studio EP,' which was recorded one weekend late last summer, in North London's Livingston Studios.
Wilkinson then joined the band as a full time member and the band added Kerry 'Kez' Edwards on cajon and James Clarke on keys, completing the 8-piece line-up.
Its subsequent success has created a buzz around the band, which led to them recently selling out a hometown gig well in advance, and being invited to play live sessions in a number of local radio stations up and down the country, as well as Camp Acoustic at the Hop Farm festival.
Poolie Strut is their first single, taken from their forthcoming album, recorded at the seminal Sawmill Studio, and mixed by the legendary John Cornfield (Muse, Supergrass, Razorlight, Oasis, Athlete etc.)
