THE LAST REPUBLIC TO SUPPORT THE LEVELLERS ON UK TOUR

The Last Republic are set to support The Levellers for ten dates across the UK in April & May 2010, and marks the start of a very busy and exciting time for the Swansea based-band.

The band’s debut single, ‘CCTV’, was released last year and received airplay on Radio 1, was playlisted by XFM and was Record of The Week on Claire Sturgess' NME Radio show. Radio 1’s Zane Lowe said on-air before playing the single, “...speaking of the future, here are a band who have a big part in it.”, while Zane’s fellow Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens said, “The Last Republic are making a name for themselves as purveyors of soaring epic anthems...Catchier than the clap and dressed sharper than razors, it's clear that The Last Republic have the proverbial 'bigger things' lined up squarely in their crosshairs.”

The Last Republic then went on to further raise their profile by winning last year’s Road To V competition. They were mentored by The Charlatans and beat 3500 bands to win the competition, with over 20,000 people voting for them in the final. The Last Republic then opened the V Festival, performing on the Main Stage to an estimated 10,000 on each day.

Since then, The Last Republic have been recording their much anticipated debut album at the famous Monnow Valley Studios. Titled ‘Parade’ and scheduled for an October 2010 release date, the tracks are currently being mixed in Los Angeles by Andrew Scheps, who is producer Rick Rubin’s mix engineer. Andrew has previously worked with artists as diverse as U2, Metallica, Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson & The Mars Volta.
