Already championed by the likes of Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Midlands-based four-piece The Musgraves are set for a major breakthrough in 2011 with their roots-infused pop.
Recently signed to Imagem Music, the world’s largest independent music publisher and home to such talent as Temper Trap and Vampire Weekend, The Musgraves are gearing up for a very busy year that starts with the release of their debut E.P., ‘Lost In Familiarity’, released on Lookout Mountain Records on June 13th 2011.
Kicking off with the infectious and hotly-tipped ‘So Sofia’, the production sound on ‘Lost In Familiarity’ is injected with more than a twist of early soul and late 50s/early 60s pop/soul, influenced by the likes of The Ronettes, The Crystals and The Shirelles. It offers the listener a thick slice of high quality roots-pop loaded with folk instrumentation.
